The Sidama National Regional State held a discussion with various segments of society under the theme "Formation of a 'Medemer' (Synergy) Government and Future Directions of Work."
Regional Chief Administrator Mesay Hailu stated that the discussion aimed to strengthen ongoing development projects, rectify shortcomings, and build a better region. He announced that the government would prioritize addressing the public's demands regarding development and good governance to achieve tangible results.
Dr. Mesay explained that, in addition to continuing existing development projects, the government would formulate new development strategies in collaboration with the public. He highlighted that particular attention would be paid to expanding job opportunities for the youth, building robust and technology-enabled institutions, and ensuring the rule of law and sustainable peace.
It was noted that the questions and comments raised by the public during the discussion would serve as inputs for future planning and operations. Participants also received responses and clarifications regarding the issues raised. Various government officials, scholars, religious leaders, community elders, investors, and other representatives of society participated in the forum.
